Hello, friends! It’s Sunday, and I decided to post something light, soft, and slightly melancholic today. Here is Will Pope — indie / folk music artist from London, UK, and his song “At Once”. Let’s check it!
The song sounds like a soundtrack to me. I mean, when hear this melody and harmony my brain just imagines the dramatic scene from some movie. Which is wonderful, because music should tell the listener a story. I’ll be honest, this song slightly reminds me of Eddie Vedder’s “Into The Wild” OST mixed with Jeff Buckley and a bit of ambient music. Wonderful mix, isn’t it?

I’m a solo indie folk act specialising in Chet Atkins-esque fingerstyle guitar with a vocal style inspired by Jeff Buckley. Following on from my debut release “Stormy Seas” which received acclaim from the likes of Mahogany and Alexrainbird Music I released two new singles late last year “Rehash” and “Punchline”. Both of these have been well-received and are growing in thousands of streams. In fact, “Punchline” has been picked up by the official Spotify playlist “Fresh on Friday”.
Big influences on me include folk acts like The Tallest Man on Earth, Bon Iver, and Sufjan Stevens and earlier inspirations come from Radiohead, The Cure, Joy Division, and The National. Most recently I’ve been following the post-punk work of Sleaford Mods, Billy Nomates and Dry-cleaning, which translates into the energy I bring to the stage.
