Hello, guys! Today’s song is also a very soft and gentle one, so relax and enjoy the vibe. Here is Joey MacMahan — slowcore / folk music artist from Los Angeles, United States, and the song “Suits and Simpletons”. Let’s dive in!
Even though the song is very gentle and soft, the lyrics are not that light. Btw, the overall style and mood of the track remind me of Dakota Suite. I am in love with this track.
With haunting vocals and tender acoustic melodies, “Suits and Simpletons” captivates listeners with its introspective lyrics and evocative atmosphere, inviting them to delve deep into the essence of human emotion.
The lyrics of “Suits and Simpletons” paint a vivid picture of internal conflict and existential contemplation. Through poetic storytelling and emotive imagery, Joey MacMahan navigates themes of struggle, disillusionment, and self-discovery. The delicate instrumentation and heartfelt delivery further enhance the song’s emotional impact, leaving a lasting impression on those who listen. “Suits and Simpletons” is a poignant reminder of the complexities of life and the journey towards finding inner peace amidst the chaos.
A bit more info about the artist and the song:
Joey MacMahan is a singer songwriter and producer based in Los Angeles California. Combining a wide range of analog production styles and techniques, Joey aims to have performances feel raw and live in recordings, and to express emotions that are universal but difficult to talk about.
I wrote suits and simpletons in a single night after an argument with a friend I’d gone into business with. I sought to capture the feeling of hating those who put business before love, while still admitting my own feelings of inadequacy in those situations. “Suits and Simpletons” refers to the dichotomy in each of us that present one way while feeling another. Under the anger in the lyrics is an emotion of regret, understanding, and sympathy.
Thanks for your time, friends! I hope you like this one as much as I do 🙂 Stand with Ukraine! Peace <3
