Kallsup – Golfströmmen (2025)

Hi there! Hope your weekend is going great 🙂 Today I am here with a wonderful song called “Golfströmmen”, by the alternative rock / shoegaze band Kallsup, from Örebro, Sweden. Let’s dive in together!

The song is a mesmerizing dive into the realms of alternative rock and shoegaze. The band crafts a sound that’s both ethereal and emotionally charged. I even hear some light influences of Amenra or Cult Of Luna. Maybe it’s just my fantasy 🙂 From the very first notes, the track envelops the listener in layers of atmospheric textures and melancholic melodies, creating an immersive listening experience. The hazy guitars and dreamy production capture the essence of the shoegaze genre, while the underlying rock foundation provides a sense of movement and depth.

Despite the language barrier, “Golfströmmen” transcends words and communicates through its mood and soundscapes. The song’s noisy, yet intricately balanced arrangement draws you in, as if you’re floating on a sea of swirling emotions. The melancholy that permeates the track is palpable, making it resonate deeply even without a clear understanding of the lyrics. This is the hallmark of great music: the ability to evoke feelings and tell a story through instrumentation and tone alone.

A bit more information about the band:
The indie band Kallsup from Örebro, Sweden has been delivering exquisite dreamy shoegaze with a touch of both post-punk and nu-gaze since 2022. The sextet has grown over the past few years, but it all started with a simple contact ad on an internet forum for musicians in Örebro. One member became two, two eventually became three and then there was a band. None of them knew each other before. No one knew exactly what kind of bond was created but it was strong enough to find a new member of the local park and another member through a band-ad on Tinder.

Kallsup consists of Eline Gustafsson (vocals), Edwin Karolczak (guitar), Carl Libert (vocals, guitar), William Ulff (bass), Elin Lindström Svernby (synth) and Joakim Jakobsson (drums).

Traditionally, thanks a lot for being with me on this endless musical trip. Hope this song found feedback in your hearts 🙂 Enjoy the music and stand with Ukraine! Peace <3
