Hello. Today I want you to tune in to the dark wave. So, here is the track “Perfection” from the album “Misconceptions of the Sixth Day”, by the Ukrainian one-man metal act Naeveth, from Kyiv. Let’s check it out!
Of course, I have a special attitude toward Ukrainian music. Especially if it really resonates with my inner vibe (as in this case). This track is deeply dark, psychedelic, dissonant, and heavy. I literally feel those vibrations in my head. There are a lot of tricky techniques in modern metal music…everything sounds sterile, and “perfect”. But I prefer something raw and underground, like this track. The whole thing is built around two repetitive chord progressions, which makes the song feel like some kind of mantra or black metal meditation if you want. As an exception I can highlight the part closer to the ending of the track, where the rhythm changes. I streamed it around 10 times while preparing this post, and honestly, I still want to hear it (it’s a pretty good sign to me).
The lyrical side of the track is also pretty dark and hopeless, so to speak. Just check out the lyrics below, and it will definitely amplify your immersion into the depths of this music. What more can I say? The song is great. That’s my opinion (I think that I have the right to have one). Thanks for being here with me. Enjoy the music and Stand with Ukraine! Peace.
LYRICS:
visions can you see them as clear as I? was that a spark of thought that flew too far? bent, shapeless pulse of never ending dark? it brings me so much pain to want I wish I never dared to try the vivid dreams of promised worlds now fade before my very eyes promise I cling to promise never made it keeps me safe it feeds my will it helps me not forget visions promise nothing they never lie they never leave they never die
