Hey guys! I am pretty excited to represent to you my new EP entitled “The Land” 🙂
This three-track EP is a cocktail of ethnic music of different cultures that passed through the neurons of my brain, electronic music, and ambient music. I’ve tried to write this music as I feel it, without any references. Probably, you’ll be able to hear parts of some specific ethnic modes and scales. But that’s the point of this release — to feel those shades. Actually, any music you’ve ever heard was written using certain scales and modes. So, it’s just a tool that I used to translate my feelings into the music.
On the first track “Diary”, you can hear the vocal improvisation by Evgenia Kartushova (Marfa). Btw, you can also check out our collaborative EP “Lullabies”.
The second one — “Night”. I used some ceramic whistle for this one. To be honest, I have no idea of how it’s called, but I like the way it sounds.
The last track “Spirit” associatively sounds like shamanic rites to me. The rhythm section in this track is simple ceramic bongos with natural leather.
Finally, it’s just my subjective vision and interpretation of those ethnic vibes. Thanks for your attention, for listening to my music, and surely, your support! The release is already available on all streaming services. Enjoy <3
