Hi, guys! As usual, I am here to share some fresh music with you 🙂 Today here is Marcid — alternative rock / shoegaze band from the United States, and their song “If Only You Knew”. Let’s dive into it!
Dive into the emotive soundscape of alternative rock and shoegaze with Marcid, a wonderful band based in the United States. Their latest track, “If Only You Knew,” is a raw and heartfelt exploration of unrequited love and longing. Haunting melodies and evocative lyrics of “If Only You Knew,” capturing the essence of longing and vulnerability.
I’ll be honest, in this kind of music I am very attracted to imperfections. I mean, the song sounds wonderful, no questions…but at the same time, the mix is not polished (as a lot of modern songs), vocals sounds natural (not autotuned to death). All these small details makes the song alive and interestin to listen to. It doesn’t mean that the song is weak from any perspective. Even though the song is about love, which is probably the most used theme for songs of all time. But it’s honest, emotional, and raw (in a good meaning). I love it because of it. Btw, in some moments it reminds me of the band Shamrain.
“If Only You Knew” delves into the depths of desire and heartache, painting a vivid picture of love unspoken and opportunities missed. Marcid’s vocals and the swirling instrumentation create a sonic landscape that is both captivating and cathartic. The lyrics express the pain of unrequited love and the yearning for connection, resonating with anyone who has experienced the bittersweet sting of longing for someone out of reach.
Thanks for your time, my firends. I hope you enjoyed this wonderful song. Stand with Ukraine! Peace <3
LYRICS
I see you every time I close my eyes In my dreams I still can't hide After everything I'll still make the drive Go ahead kill me Let me give you the knife Saw you yesterday with someone new Heart got heavy I saw something in you So envious I want you to be mine All the things never said but I'll say it tonight If only you knew how much you mean to me I'm down on my knees I need you tonight Wanna go far away Leave it all behind As I look at you I see my demise It's not new but it feels so right
