Hi, guys! If only you would know how much I love underground electronic music! Today here is Mathias Schaffhäuser — electronic music artist from Cologne, Germany, and the track is called “6 Uhr Morgens (Instrumental 2023)”. Let’s dive into it!
First of all — Mr. Mathias, excuse me for my words about “underground electronic music”. I totally understand that you are a legioner of the electronic music scene in general. I meant just the overall vibe / style / mood of the track and I like this stuff very much btw 🙂
I don’t know why, but I am a fan of monotone, hypnotic, and minimalistic music. This composition is exactly what I like. It’s kinda meditative mantra and its repetitive melody makes my body move back on forth. Also, I’ve checked the whole “6 Uhr Morgens” EP which includes 5 versions of the track, and I can say that I like the instrumental version the most. It definitely doesn’t mean that the rest of the are not good…definitely no. But this one is just a perfect one for me.
Here is more information about the artist:
Mathias Schaffhäuser has been on the techno, house and minimal scene since 1994 when his first EP was released on Definitive Records. 2023, he celebrates the 25th jubilee of his label WARE Records with the EP “25 Years Of Ware” (release in June).
In November, another EP will be released with a vocal version of one of Mathias’ classics, the song “6 Uhr morgens”. 2022 saw his 9th album Biotopical, which combines tracks released on Biotop records between 2015 and 2020. Also 2 EPs were released, one of Mathias’ project Fanatico X called ”On The Brink, Vol. 2”, and the solo EP “Magnificent Madness” on Suleiman Records. In 2021, he was part of 2 remix projects, one for Si Begg and one for Öona Dahl.
In April the EP “Carry On Today” was released with remixes by Iron Curtis and a lovely cover version of Jefferson Airplane’s song „Today“. Other releases from Mathias appeared on Compost, Kompakt, Force Inc., Third Ear and BluFin Record. In 1997 he started WARE, releasing 102 EPs until today. His album Lido Hotel with the well known track Nice To Meet You, released in 2000, marked his breakthrough in the techno scene. 2001 saw his massive club hit Hey Little Girl, and in 2002 Musik ohne Bass permeated the clubs.
In April 2005 he released his album Coincidance, its title track successfully remixed by Trentemøller. He also produced remixes for Steve Bug (Lover Boy), Luomo (Tessio), Faust, [A]pendics.Shuffle, Goldfrapp, Pan-Pot, Indoor Life, Northern Lite, Dapayk & Padberg – to name a few.
I hope you like this stuff as much as I do 🙂 Enjoy your day, this music, and stand with Ukraine! Peace <3
