Hello, friends. My tooth is still slightly aching, but how can I leave you without fresh music? So, here I am with one more amazing track. Here is manymanyhaha — experimental / electronic music project from New Orleans, Louisianam United States, and the track “the bustle before us”. Let’s check it!
The track is some strange mix of trip-hop, lo-fi, and something else…something that I can’t recognize. Probably, it’s something from another dimension. I am in love with this warped sound of the mix. It sounds so warm! Even though the track is not very diverse, there are still a huge amount of tiny details here and there, that will keep your attention during the whole thing.
I’ll be honest, I have nothing more to say about this certain track. It’s just a good stuff. But I still have a some words about the whole album this track belongs. The album is called “Meet The Funderken”, and it’s a huge work. 23 track of amazingly sounding music, which I still can’t categorize in any way. Interesting fact — you can listen to the album each track one by one, or on shuffle…it doesn’t matter. It still will sound surprisingly seamless. Each composition is a puzzle that creates a whole musical picture when meets all other tracks of the album. I can hear some acid jazz influeces, lo-fi hip-hop, ambient, and much more stuff on this album. I strongly recommend you to check out the album on Spotify by following the link below the post.
Here is more information about the artist, if you cosider to dive deeper:
Longtime resident of New Orleans (Meet The Funderken was performed and recorded dans la petite maison de la Marigny), we prefer anonymity. Have released records under a different moniker in the past (idiopathic or the halfwit idiopathic or the halfwit formerly unknown as idiopathic). This is the first as manymanyhaha. Different methods, different sound etc.
Influences? Mayaan Nidam, Boards of Canada, Goat, My Bloody Valentine, Marissa Nadler, Milk Cult/Steel Pole Bathtub, Alan Hovhaness and if you squint really hard, Sugar Pie Desanto. To name a handful of playlist go-to’s that this record sounds nothing like. Or, to paraphrase Steven Soderbergh’s long ago oscar speech, anyone who has ever had a creative impulse. (Though of course, not those who use their creativity to do negative things, like come up with creative ways to murder or thieve. No, those people are like dolphins, they are fuckers!)
The genre is Please Don’t Genre Me Mon Ami. Some have described it as psychedelic experimental electronica, but it’s really just someone recording a guitar, drums and text-to-voice jams. Is it “electronic music” if no sequencers, keyboards or AI are used? Thank you, you container for a lovely human you.
That’s all at this point. I hope you dig this weird musical stuff. Personally, I am happy that I opened this stuff for myself. Enjoy the music and stand with Ukraine! Peace <3
