FORDWICH – User Friendly (2023)

Hi guys! To be honest, I don’t like weekends in general and Sundays in particular. Don’t even know why. But it’s always wonderful when the day starts with great fresh music. It makes me at least a bit more calm and happy 🙂 Today here is FORDWICH — electronic music producer from Toronto, Canada, and the track “User Friendly”. Let’s check it!

Stylistically, the track reminds me of the mix of Burial, Aphex Twin, and something from the lo-fi beats. Very soft (but incredibly crisp at the same time), warm, and well-produced stuff. I really like all those tiny details in the arrangement (like the sound/pitch of the snare drum which changes all the time to fit ti the chord progression tone). And there are a lot of these little things that make this track incredibly interesting to discover.

I’ve already listened to it a few times on repeat while writing to this and it still sounds interesting to me. I mean, this track is not boring at all. It means that the arrangement is thoughtful for sure. It gives me some very light and pleasant vibes of summer evening for some reason. Definitely will turn it on on today’s evening walk 🙂

A bit more info about the artists and the track:
FORDWICH is an eclectic and prolific artist and producer from Toronto, Canada whose identity remains intentionally obscured as a means of separating his solo work from previous productions and collaborations with more established artists.

This is one of seven songs making up my debut EP, DOVELAND. This music represents my first release as a solo independent artist and producer. I grew tired of the headaches associated with producing for more established industry artists and decided to go it alone in so I could more accuratley express myself through experimentation with genre, texture, melody and field sampling.

Well, that’s pretty all for this time. Enjoy the music and your day. Stand with Ukraine! Peace <3
