Good morning, friends! If you think that I will post something with a soft Sunday vibe, you are wrong. Sorry. Today is a heavy day 😉 Here is Thunraz — experimental death metal band from Tallinn, Estonia, and their song entitled “Nihil”. Some time ago I posted this band, you can check it by following the link below the post. Anyway, let’s move on to the music!
As the guys themselves say: “Quite possibly the most ferocious and punishing Thunraz track ever. Lyrically pointing a finger and/or swinging a hammer at man and god.” And honestly, I have nothing to argue with this description. This stuff is a total meat grinder! Literally from the very first seconds, the track smashes the brain with crazy drums, noisy guitars, and absolutely demonic vocal part.
I really like this old-school atmosphere of the song. I think that death metal should sound like this (dirty and raw). Almost all modern heavy music is overproduced and sounds like plastic child-clones of ProTools to me. Unlike this stuff. Well, maybe I am a bit too categorical in this matter, but that’s what I feel.
In only a few lines of text, the band managed to place almost everything you may think about life in general. We are all mortal, and we should accept it. And the lyrics are perfectly emphasized by the music. Strong work. Enjoy the music and stand with Ukraine! See you.
