Philippe Deschamps – Under 92 Moons (2023)

Hi there! Ambient music is often guest on my blog lately. Today here is ambient music once again. It’s one of my favorite genres to be honest. Please welcome, Philippe Deschampsambient music artist from Paris, France, and the composition “Under 92 Moons”. Let’s dive in!

I am always slightly confused when I should write something about ambient music. Because this type of music is more for the feelings than for the words. It has not lyrics or certain melodies / rhythms…you should just let the stream get you and it will show you the inner world of your brain. You will feel things that may not be available for you with “regular” music. That’s why I am always trying not to describe this stuff from the logical point of view, but in terms of my own sensations.

This composition for me personally, is like a early morning fog above the calm and dark lake in the middle of an ancient forest. I can literally feel those tiny particles of wet in the air. They’re slowly embracing me with their cold and gently calling to dive into the dark depth of water. That’s what I see / feel in my head, while listening to this music.

What is even more exciting about this track, that the fact it was created using only an electric guitar. As a guitar player myself, I appreciate this approach very much.

A bit more info about the artist:
Philippe Deschamps is a French composer of film music, who also produces ambient music. Trained in classical piano as a child, he first played bass and guitar in several rock bands, before studying sound in a film school in Paris. He started working as a sound engineer and sound editor. Then he wrote many film scores, such as Habitations légèrement modifiées and La nuit aux amants.

He started in the summer of 2022 a project of ambient music around the color blue, between space ambient (Blue Question) and drone ambient (Mountains of wind). Ambient music is for him a genre that questions the listener, by inventing unheard of sounds, by creating unreal spaces and temporalities. He seeks to create moments of deep listening conducive to sound meditation, contemplation and dreams.

That’s all at this point. I think your brain receiveda portion of good ambient music vibes 🙂 Have a wonderful day and stand with Ukraine! Peace <3
