Hi guys! This time Friday is a “heavy day”. Here is the band Seventh — atmospheric black metal from Quebec, Canada, and their fresh song “Lord of the Horde”. Let’s check it out together!

Dive into the abyss of atmospheric black metal with Seventh, a formidable force hailing from Quebec, Canada, as they unleash “Lord of the Horde.” The track, embedded below, invites you into a realm of darkness and apocalyptic fervor. Seventh embodies the essence of atmospheric black metal, weaving a sonic tapestry that captures the haunting allure of the unknown. “Lord of the Horde” stands as a testament to the band’s mastery of the genre, with a relentless cascade of riffs, intense drumming, and screaming vocals that create an immersive and foreboding atmosphere. The haunting melody of the track beckons listeners into a sonic journey that explores themes of death, torment, and the inexorable march of the apocalypse.

The lyrics of “Lord of the Horde” paint a vivid picture of a desolate world, ruled by the dark forces embodied in the lord of the horde. The imagery of drifting into dark skies for eternal rest and the fall of man sets the stage for a narrative that delves into the macabre. The relentless and dissonant soundscape mirrors the themes of torment and suffering, creating an intense auditory experience. Seventh’s ability to merge atmospheric elements with raw, unbridled power is showcased in this track, solidifying their position in the realm of atmospheric black metal.

A bit more info about the track:
Imagine what the death of the sun would bring: fear, chaos, and final embrace. While this is the worst moment for all humanity, the “Lord of the Horde” embraces billions of souls suddenly within his grasp. This metal song comes with a punch that metalcore has come to love and follows it up with an ambience that listeners often only find in black metal. Produced by Antoine Baril at Hemisphere studios, this new song will make any metal fan perk up to the potential of this Québec scene.

As usual, thank you very much for your time and attention. Stay with me and listen to the good music Stand with Ukraine! Peace <3

LYRICS

I’m the dark the plague the apocalypse
Dead and gone feeding the unknown
I’m your death the graves of tormentors
Hell servants king
The lord of the horde

Drift into the dark skies for eternal rest now as the fall of man has begun here
This world will inherit the frail and dissonance with our sets of flesh becoming one with hell
Follow my voice straight into the void as your soul leaves the soil
Leading us to help you pull the trigger
Life is slowly fading
Life is slowly vanishing
The depths and sorrows work will be never ending
They should brace themselves as exertion will proceed in overtimes
And the amount of souls to process will be unprecedented
Ripe through it all the arms of sadistic to drag the bodies and feed the valley of death
No wishes no miracles cuz death decided to never rest
Feeding on a future that’s not yours to see
All attempts to live will end up in slow death
No one can’t stop what’s coming as we’re being erased from history

Take me and punish me
Shut my eyes and burn me to feed the depths
I’m ready to be taken away so take control
Bleed dry my souvenirs till there’s only vision of the end

Hey, guys! It’s pretty hot outside today… so, I am looking for something cold to refresh my mind. And I ofund it! Today here is EVERGARDEN — a black metal / blackgaze band from the United States, and their song “Cold Hands”. Let’s check it out right away!

First of all, this is very long track (not for the genre, but for the regular track in general) and really furious from the arrangement perspective and playing technique. I have no idea how the drummer able to play blastbeat for a few minutes straight. I become physically tired just by listening to it Despite the overall darkness and heaviness of the track it’s still very atmospheric and has a lot of pleasant melodic details. Kinda mix of black metal and post-rock here.

The vocals are prety different. I mean, you can hear a high-pitch scream as well as low growls in the background, which makes the track even more dark and heavy. In some moments I can hear some light influences of metalcore in the vibe of the track. Probably, it’s because of the “slow” in the middle of the track. The vocal manner slightly reminds me of Architects. You know that I don’t like clean vocals in metal music…but in this case, some tiny little sparkles of clean vocals only makes the track even more exciting. The production level is top-notch. no questions here. Everyting sounds amazing in the mix (at least in my opinion).

What can I say… This is wonderful example of modern metal music. It’s not overproduced, it’s heavy, dark, and melodic at the same time. even if you didn’t hear any metal music before, this stuff will not damage your brain for sure. Solid release. Enjoy the music and stand with Ukraine! Peace <3

LYRICS

I found you buried
I pulled your cold hands from the sand
I was much too late
To save you from yourself
This is the end
Farewell my friend
This is the end
farewell my dearest friend
I still feel your voice
Piercing through the wind
I can hear it soar
I can hear you sing
I still feel your voice
Piercing through the wind
I can hear it soar
I can hear you sing
I still feel your voice
Piercing through the wind
I can hear it soar
I can hear you sing
There is blood on my hands
There is blood on my hands
There is blood on my hands
I'm still trying to find my way
Can I wash away this burden?
I need to find my way
Can I wash away this burden?
You disappeared in darkness
Helpless against the waves
My cold hands still reach for you
Drowning
Sinking deeper
In a prison made of snow
In a prison made of snow
I wasn't there
When you needed me most
I can never forgive myself
I never meant to let you go
I never meant to hurt you
I never meant to turn my back
I never meant to desert you
I can never take it back
There is blood on my hands
There is blood on my hands
There is blood on my hands
This is the end
Farewell my friend
This is the end
farewell my dearest friend
I still feel your voice
Piercing through the wind
I can hear it soar
I can hear you sing
I still feel your voice
Piercing through the wind
I can hear it soar
I can hear you sing

Hello, friends. Probably, it’s because of the situation in Ukraine and my overall inner vibe…but in the last month, I prefer to listen to something even darker than I usually listen to. So today here is one more dark and heavy song. This time here is Extravaganza — depressive post-black metal band from Lithuania, and their fresh song “Barocco”. Let’s check it!

The very first thing that I like about this song — is the lyrics in Lithuanian. It sounds incredibly dark. Perfectly fits the overall black metal atmosphere of the track. I also translated the text…and it’s also so depressive. Also, those sounds of preparing to sing at the beginning of the song… Like it.

Actually, I like every detail in this track. Everything sounds wonderful. Melodic elements floating on the dark metal waves. From the drums to the vocal manner. The overall mood and vibe of the song literally bring me to another world. I think, if you are a black metal / post-metal fan, then this track and the band, in general, will be a great finding for your musical collection. Enjoy the music and stand with Ukraine. Peace <3
