Simon Alexander – Ocean

Beautiful song by Simon Alexander

Artist about the track:

Ocean is the lead single from the sophomore album ‘Riverine’, coming out November 13th.

“It’s a song about dealing with a tough situation, if so it’s addiction or a toxic relationship, and how it can affect you and the people you love the most. It’s about telling yourself the same things over and over, but still end up where you don’t want to be. Sometimes it can feel like a deep and endless ocean that you just can’t get out of. But there is always hope, and if you have just one person that is there for you it can mean everything.”

LYRICS:

Hold steady, don’t let me drown
Told you I won’t sway this time
So many ways I have known
Soon I will know which was right

All that remain is a voice
But it caught me off, and stripped me down
So I will let it go undone
And not keep it in my sight

In the ocean, going down
I’m closer, to be found
But I know I’ll be better off with you
All I wanna know is where we’ll be
When everything sleeps

Won’t let it play on my mind
Nothing between to unwind
Trying to stay in a poise
But it’s too deep for me here

Why do I feel overrun
When I grind it up, and it let’s me down
All will be better when I’m done
But it will not help tonight

In the ocean, going down
I’m closer, to be found
But I know I’ll be better off with you
All I wanna know is where we’ll be
When everything sleeps

Hey,
When you go, don’t go aiming for the things you only want
Don’t you know, in the waiting you’ll be coming back for more
When you go, you’ll be saying things you never said before
Don’t you know, that you wanted something you could never hold

When you go, don’t go aiming for the things you only want
Don’t you know, in the waiting you’ll be coming back for more
When you go, you’ll be saying things you never said before
And you never could hold

In the ocean, going down
I’m closer, to be found
But I know I’ll be better off with you
All I wanna know is where we’ll be
When everything sleeps
