Rednex – Cotton Eye Joe (Cover by Simon Alexander)

Beautiful cover of Rednex’s “Ctton Eye Joe” by Simon Alexander!

Artist about the track:

I’ve been performing this one live a bunch of times but never recorded it, so I thought that I’d give you possibly my weirdest covers/interpretations to date.

Acoustic guitar & choirs are pre-recorded by myself, the vocals are an unedited live-take as can be seen in the video.

LYRICS:

[Verse 1]
He came to town like a midwinter storm
He rode through the fields, so handsome and strong
His eyes was his tools and his smile was his gun
But all he had come for was havin' some fun

[Verse 2]
He brought disaster wherever he went
The hearts of the girls was to hell broken sent
They all ran away so nobody would know
And left only men 'cause of Cotton-Eyed Joe

[Chorus]
Where did you come from? Where did you go?
Where did you come from, Cotton-Eyed Joe?

[Outro]
She'd be married a long time ago
If it weren't for Cotton Eye Joe
