Memory Cult – Pityful

Interesting track by Memory Cult

Artist about the track:

“Pityful” is the new single from LA-based electronic artist Memory Cult, taken from his debut album, out in March.

“This record was created in response a series of personal (mental illness) and professional (band breakup) upsets as well as in reaction to social and political conflicts of the last year,” he explains. “It was created using a series of in studio performances that were then resampled and layered continuously to create what I have been referring to as a ‘collage album.'”

LYRICS:

Dither that blackhole inside your head.
Extending your limbs amongst the dead.
Memorizing all the pretty things you’d give your self if you could live.

You’d bend your arms back for somebody else
Holding the charm that you wish for your self
Is this at all like life?
Can’t take it back once it’s done
You’re looking pityful now

You sang me back home with bitter lips.
From the desert of my sunken head
Gather up my bones and leave them in the bed
Is this at all like life?

You’d bend your arms back for somebody else
Holding the charm that you wish for your self
Is this at all like life?
Can’t take it back once it’s done

You shouldn’t have let it go
You’re looking pityful now
You shouldn’t have let it go
Inches like miles apart
