ANDRÆ - indie / electronic music artist from London, UK
ANDRÆ is an independent one-man band leading his own project, associating dark electronic and organic sounds with soulful vocals. Initially influenced by soul and jazz singers like Brenda Lee, Ray Charles and Nina Simone, he also starts showing interest in experimental pop artists like James Blake, serpentwithfeet and Sevdaliza.
Currently based in London, originally from Brussels, he begins to show a natural talent for all kinds of artistic disciplines, especially visual arts, as a way of escaping a world that does not seem to accept him. He later taught himself piano at a young age, then turned to songwriting and music production in his teens. After releasing a few songs over the past few years, being featured on many blogs and airplayed on shows like BBC 6 Introducing, he prepares a new project: an EP that will come out in the second half of 2020. ‘I don’t fall, I crash’ will be the first song to be released. All songs are written, composed and produced by him, he also designs the artwork and visuals of his projects.
ANDRÆ sings about his own experiences. He believes in accepting and celebrating our flaws, as we do for any other part of ourselves: « Embrace your weirdness, swim against the current, keep questionning how we think and function as humans. »
