Hey-hey! How are you all doing today? Hope everything is perfectly fine 🙂 Get ready for a short but very dynamic and powerful trip! Today here is the track called “House Of Vultures”, by the mathcore / hardcore band from the United Kingdom — Tendrils. Let’s check it out!
I’ll be honest, this track is very dark and furious, from the sound perspective, as from the lyrical side of things. But those lyrics sound just perfect in this performing manner and on top of this crazy math arrangement. I really dig this stuff. It feels like you’ve been pulled into a tornado or meatgrinder for 1 minute and 44 seconds…
This song is an intense journey through dissonant riffs, unpredictable time signatures, and relentless aggression, embodying the very essence of mathcore and hardcore genres. The band’s intricate musicianship is on full display, creating a soundscape that is both jarring and exhilarating, pushing the boundaries of conventional metal music.
The lyrics of “House Of Vultures” mirror the song’s dark and aggressive tone, painting a bleak picture of despair and desolation. With lines like “Extinction, the price of greed” and “The cruelest trick the devil ever pulled was giving you a god,” Tendrils delve into themes of existential dread and societal decay. The raw, unfiltered emotion in the vocals complements the brutal instrumentation, making this track a cathartic experience for listeners.

Blending vocals that seemingly teeter on the edge of sanity, with whiplash inducing riff changes and frantic rhythm sections, the Devonian noise quartet has intrigued fans from across Metalcore, Noise and Punk Rock genres.

Inspired in part by the poem ‘Vultures’ by Chinua Achebe. House of Vultures is a dark, despairing look at the human condition, the role of organised religions and the inevitability of the destructive consequences of human greed.
Thanks a lot for being with me today 🙂 I hope this short but incredibly saturated track is something that you’re looking for today. Enjoy the music and stand with Ukraine! Peace <3
Lyrics:
Despondent Dismal dawn Swollen corpse Vultures swarm. Malignant and useless. Bloated with self loathing, Anxious apes learned hastily, Deeper cuts draw more blood. Coming unstuck gradually. Extinction, the price of greed. You call out to the skies On your knees! The cruelest trick The devil ever pulled Was giving you a god. Desolate Doleful Dusk Charred Remains Rot and Rust
