Hello, friends! This time I want to share with you a wonderful piece of experimental / electronic music by the project “Department of Electrophilosophy”, called “Monadlogic”. Let’s check this out together!
“Monadlogic” is infused with noisy, industrial influences, creating a rich and complex auditory experience that unfolds like a story with multiple stages. Despite the absence of lyrics, the track captivates the listener through its evolving textures and dynamic layers, proving that music can convey powerful narratives without words.
What sets “Monadlogic” apart is the meticulous craftsmanship behind its soundscapes. The artist behind the Department of Electrophilosophy has skillfully avoided the use of samples, instead generating every sound from scratch. This approach results in a uniquely original composition that highlights the artist’s prowess in sound design.
Each element of the track is thoughtfully placed to contribute to a coherent yet ever-changing auditory journey. For those who appreciate experimental music and innovative sound artistry, “Monadlogic” offers a compelling listen that showcases the limitless possibilities of electronic music.
A bit more info about the artist and the track:
Department of Electrophilosophy is my electronic music alterego, but is has been a long time coming. I am a professor of philosophy in California, teaching anything from Ethics to Aesthetics. Decades ago, even though I had already played in front of many thousands, I decided not to focus on a career in music (tuba, electric bass, synth) because “what if I lost a finger or two?” I was thinking that at least I could still do philosophy. But here I am still doing music—with my digits still fully intact—sometimes a lot more than I do philosophy these days.
The electronic piece “Monadlogic” is the study of how a single point, whether it is a mathematical unit or even the soul of a person, connects with all else in the universe. A unity within a vast multiplicity. It expresses wordlessly the philosophy of the Monadology of the German polymath Leibniz. Well, that is one way to look at it… (Experimental with an industrial edge; zero samples).
Traditionally, thanks a lot for being with me on this endless musical trip. I hope I make your life a bit better 🙂 Enjoy the music and stand with Ukraine! Peace <3
