Hi, guys! We always want more…it doesn’t matter, more of what. More money, more joy, more sadness. It’s kinda human nature — to want more. Anyways, I will try to show you that sometimes less means much more than lots. Today here is Karl McCann – acoustic / sadcore music artist from Liverpool, UK, and his song “Like A Star”. Let’s check it!
First of all, the lyrics. There are not as many words in this song. But if you will really listen to them, then you will catch a lot of meaning behind them. After that — the melody. It’s also pretty minimalistic. The vocal line just floating around one note. But it still sounds fully enough to bring the thoughts of the song into your head. Also, the guitar part…it’s also incredibly minimalistic. No chords, no even harmonic intervals. Just a few notes played one by one. But it’s still enough, and perfectly fits the mood of the song.
I think this song is more for feelings, not for hype and trendy modern sound with cool production tricks. I’ve listened to the song 5 or 10 times in a row now, and it totally grabs my mind. I really like this mood and vibe. I hope you also will enjoy it. Peace <3
