Hey, hey! How’s your week? Yep, I also hate this question… 🙂 Anyways, I hope everything is fine!
The weekend starts with good music and traditional for me hot black tea in the morning. It’s relatively warm outside, around +5-6 (it’s abnormally warm as for February in Ukraine). Slowly moving to the sub-tropical climate 😉
Here is Tomas Raae & The Malibu BeachBand – lo-fi rock / folk music project from Denmark, and their song “Greetings From The North”. The artwork is a perfect fit for the music in my opinion. Sometimes, while I am listening to some similar music (I mean folk / indie / lo-fi rock music), it sounds like something I’ve already heared for a hundred times before. But sometimes it sounds like an absolutey fresh stuff (as in this case).
This song sounds like a honey! Sometimes musicians can’t catch the vibe and trying to make some sofisticated chord progression or to add weird time signature…as a result – hard to listen to and difficult to understanding track. But this certain song is an example of how TO DO! Simple harmony, easy and clear melodies over the good arrangement. It doesn’t mean that the track is primitive or something! It’s definitely not. But here you can hear how the professionals do, to create beautiful stuff and keep it simple in the same time.
Have a nice weekend and enjoy the music <3
